Family Education Clinician

The Family Clinician’s primary role is to work with the families of youth receiving services to provide psychoeducation and support. They may also provide some psychoeducation pertaining to psychosis to both the patient and family members together, should the patient want this. The Family Clinician’s main goal is to help reduce relative burden and help relatives build on their strengths to create an environment that supports patient recovery. Family Education sessions can be offered in a group-based or individualized setting. Family Clinicians will also work with family members to improve communication and problem-solving skills, while providing a recovery and resilience approach to early psychosis intervention.
