Individual Resiliency Trainer (IRT)
Individual Resiliency Trainers (IRT) are recovery-oriented clinicians, who may also provide case management or crisis management to patients. Individual Resiliency Trainers utilize a strengths-based approach to help patients identify and develop recovery goals, learn about psychosis and the skills for managing it, develop coping skills for stressful situations and persistent symptoms, and address challenges related to achieving their recovery goals. The IRT clinician will work further with patients to facilitate the development of personal resiliency skills, help patients improve their social and leisure functioning, and prevent or address problems related to substance abuse or physical health. The IRT interventions are deeply rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Positive Psychology principles.
